Going without breakfast in the morning has been associated with a 75% increased risk of subclinical atherosclerosis and a doubled risk of generalized atherosclerosis according to a new study.
The research, was published in the October 10, 2017 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiolog. It also showed that even people who ate a low-energy breakfast had an increased risk of atherosclerosis compared to those who started their day with a heartier meal.
According to the researchers, these findings support previous reports suggesting dietary patterns can affect rates of cardiovascular events.
